Chamorro and Carolinian Heritage Month with the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library
[Saipan, MP] Did you hear that the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be hosting a read aloud of books written in Chamorro and Carolinian? That’s right! On Saturday, September 07th, 2024 and September 21st, 2024, JKPL will be hosting a read aloud. We are excited to extend an invitation for families to come by and enjoy this experience in celebration of Chamorro and Carolinian Heritage Month!
The read aloud will start at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by an activity for children to engage in afterwards. If you would like, you are also welcome to borrow cultural books from our Pacific Collection and to take a look at our cultural display of artifacts curated over the years! Spread the word, and we hope to see you there!
The Chamorro and Carolinian Heritage read aloud and activity will take place at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library in the Children of Our Homeland, a.k.a. the Children’s Library. The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s hours of operation are as follows: Open Tuesday to Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays. *Closed for JKPL Austerity on the following Saturdays: September 14 and 28, 2024.
