[Saipan, MP] The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is pleased to announce that thanks to the generous support and assistance of Joeten Motors, Inc. the repair of our Bookmobile and Technology Mobile Express was expedited and completed in time for the Bookmobile Summer Reading Program and the resumption of outreach services to the Tanapag Youth Center from July 10-12, 2024; the Carolinian Utt/Pavilion from July 17-19; the Kagman Community Center from July 24-26, and the Fernando M. Benavente Memorial Library (San Antonio) from July 30-31 & August 2, 2024.

“Following the vandalism that occurred to both the Bookmobile and the Technology Mobile Express on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Parking Lot, we are immensely grateful to Joeten Motors, Inc. for their prompt and efficient repair of both library vehicles,” said Library Director Erlinda C. Naputi. “On behalf of the community we serve, we humbly thank Joeten Motors, Inc. for their outstanding service and expeditious repair of both vehicles, which will enable us to continue to provide essential library services to our most underserved communities and enhance educational opportunities for all residents.”

The Bookmobile or our “mini library on wheels” serves as a vital resource for our community, bringing library services and resources directly to residents who may have limited access to traditional library programs and services. Its impact is particularly significant during the Summer Reading Program, as we strive to promote literacy and a love for reading among children and families.

The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s temporary summer library hours are as follows: Tuesday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays.
